The product
Nuweba is the new kid on the block of Serverless platforms. The company claims to be the fastest and most secured FaaS provider allowing full control over Serverless applications. ‘It is technology, not voodoo’, that’s what they said.
For this new generation type of platform, we were challenged to redesign the way we interact with Serverless solutions, definitely push forward the whole user experience and ultimately offer more visibility over functions.
Concept
Not only Nuweba provides improved performance but also allows users to migrate all their functions to the platform in just one click. In fact, interacting with and controlling functions is the core of the app and therefore became our focus.
The isometric design came as a natural choice for creating a three-dimensional world that brings depth to the Serverless environment.
User flows
For this MVP, the user flow got pretty straightforward. Through the app, the user goes through the following:
* Logs in
* Select the functions he wants to secure and secure them
* Lands to a dashboard overview of all the secured functions
* From there, the user can dive into what we called the ‘God Mode’, a zoomed-out view of all the functions
* He can also isolate or zoom in on specific functions where he is transported in the ‘Angel Mode’
Design solutions
Each function is represented by a 3D cube container that is not only eye-catching and visually appealing but also has a more realistic look. We wanted the user to feel the realness of the actual functions and at the same time to draw him inside this dimension.
Not only isometry was the perfect visual metaphor for representing functions, but also to visually translate the idea that Nuweba was offering more and better options. Combined with a modern and edgy font, vibrant colours and a general ‘spacy vibe’ we could bring forward the ‘Secure’ or ‘Innovative’ values of the product and keep the UI simple but impressive.
Playing with a dark vs light theme allowed us to build the story and gives more structure to the app; The ‘God Mode’, represented as a dark three-dimensional grid, is a zoomed-out view of all the functions, while the ‘Angel Mode’, a focused and light version of this dimension.
